Gerlinde Thomas has always had a passion for creating being drawn to portraiture and figurative endeavours,. In 2008 she decided to paint using watercolours, later transitioning to oils. With no formal training, but with pure perseverance, trial and error, her skills have developed and expanded.
She has participated in over 45 art exhibitions, and has held 4 solo exhibitions.
“On The Face Of It” at Lost Bear Gallery featured portraits of over 30 Blue Mountains based artists and artisans. “Bygone Eras” at Gallery One88 in Katoomba depicted nostalgic evocations of the hedonistic Gatsby era and Hollywood golden days.
Gerlinde has works displayed in various locations throughout the Blue Mountains and is represented by the Little Wombat Gallery in Faulconbridge. Currently, Gerlinde is working on commissions and welcomes all enquiries.
Blue Mountains based musician, Maizy Coombes is well known for her role in bands such as Snail, Lime and Steel and Tally Ho & the 10-to-Go’s, as well as appearances with many Blue Mountains performers.
